Steve Swan

Mr. Swan is a certified Physician Assistant and founding partner of SLY Medical. He completed his training at Emory University School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program and earned a Master of Medical Science degree. He graduated with highest honors and was awarded the Emory University Humanitarian Award.

Prior to working in rural medicine Mr. Swan spent 16 years working in multiple high acuity, high volume emergency departments in the Denver metro region, including a level 1 trauma center. During this time he served as the lead physician assistant for multiple emergency departments and served on the peer review boards for multiple hospitals. Further, he was integral to the development of emergency department associated observation units. However, he started his career working in internal medicine in Española, New Mexico in a rural, underserved clinic. 

Further,  Mr. Swan has extensive experience with international volunteer work with Compassion International and has learned that the key to bringing help to any area is to discover what the community is already doing well and supporting that. There is no reason to invent a new way of doing things when the community knows what they need and he can complement that with his skills.
